The Czech Republic has more to offer than you might think! The country in Central Europe surprises with beautiful cities, enchanting nature and graceful castles. As we crossed the country on our way to Prague, I was constantly amazed... That's how beautiful our views were! So it's worth exploring the Czech Republic away from its capital!

Admittedly, I hadn't had Eastern Europe on my radar for a long time. There was simply nothing about it that appealed to me. But then I came to Prague and was surprised by a beautiful and interesting city. Prague showed me that Eastern Europe has much more to offer than I ever imagined.

Entry & Visas

The Czech Republic is a member of the EU, which is why EU citizens do not require a visa. In addition, there are generally no border controls within the EU. You only need to carry your identity card with you.

There are ATMs everywhere in the cities. Outside of cities, however, you should always have enough cash with you. In restaurants and other establishments, it is best to ask in advance whether card payment is possible.

Best time to visit

It depends on what you have in mind. If you want to explore nature, May to September are ideal. However, the weather is not always consistent. You can go on a city trip all year round.

Autofahren

A national driving license is sufficient for EU citizens. The traffic signs and rules are by and large uniform within Europe.

The speed limits are 130 km/h on freeways, 90 km/h outside built-up areas and 50 km/h within built-up areas. The drink-drive limit is 0.0 per mille.
