Join The Crew (JTC) offers group sailing trips with experienced skippers in various areas within and outside Europe. You can choose between sailing trips in small groups or trips in flotillas (several boats).
You can easily book your trip via the JTC website. After booking, a crew area will be activated for you. In addition to a crew chat, through which you can get to know the other participants, you will find all the necessary information as well as packing and shopping lists for the trip. I would recommend that newcomers read through the information carefully so that you are aware of important information. For example, you should travel with a travel bag instead of a suitcase or bring biodegradable shampoo.
Because JTC plans everything for you, you only need to arrive at the agreed meeting point on the start day. There, the skipper will give you important information and you will plan the week together. You will then go shopping together and bring the shopping to the boat. As soon as you have finished, you will move into the boat and stow the shopping. And then you can actually set off.
Before setting off, the skipper will give you a short safety briefing and explain the basics of sailing. However, he will only really teach you how to sail once you are underway and can put everything into practice. Ideally, you will be able to sail the boat almost independently by the end of the week. Of course, the skipper will say something here and there, but for the most part he will let you sail the boat on your own.
How the trip itself goes depends on the crew. You decide what you want to do and see. You will spend most of your time on the boat, as you will not only sleep there, but also have breakfast, cook and shower. From time to time, however, you will go ashore for a delicious meal in a restaurant or to explore one place or another.
By the way: If sailing is not for you, JTC also offers other group trips like roadtrips, outdoor mix, surfing or skiing!
