Amsterdam

Restaurants, Cafés & Co.

 Where we filled our bellies:

I felt like I saved more restaurants and cafés for our Amsterdam trip than sights. Because Amsterdam is a great place to eat and drink coffee! Unfortunately, we couldn't try everything in our limited time. But where we did, it was always delicious!

On the first evening, we went to the Vegan Food Junk Bar. There are several different places and they are all popular. We even had to queue to get into the vegan fast food place. But it was worth the wait. Our burgers were super tasty and the atmosphere was really fun.

On Saturday, we first went to the food market in De Hallen (Hannie Dankbaarpassage 47, 1053 RT Amsterdam) for our lunch break. There are stalls for every culinary taste, so you'll always find what you're looking for. I also thought it was a cool place to eat! After dinner, we went outside on the street to get an ice cream at Massimo Gelato (various locations) for dessert, which was super tasty! Bene also had a coffee, which he really enjoyed. In the evening we ate at a special location again. Pllek is located on the grounds of the NDSM shipyard on an island in the river Ij (T.T. Neveritaweg 59, 1033 WB Amsterdam). The inside of the restaurant is in an old industrial hall, while the outside is on the beach. This is why Pllek turns into a beach club in summer, with events taking place here all year round. And by the way, the food tasted delicious!

On Sunday, we had fries with parmesan from Fabel Friet (Runstraat 1, 1016 GJ Amsterdam) for lunch. And the fries were, as the name suggests, fabulous. I didn't even have Fabel Friet on my list. We just saw the long queue in front of the store and thought: this can only be good! And so it was. After the fries, we allowed ourselves another snack. We stopped by Coffee District (Willemsparkweg 8h, 1071 HD Amsterdam). Bene got himself a good coffee there and we both got some luggage and OMG - it was so delicious! I would love to go back there right now. To round off our trip, we went to Lucca Due (Haarlemmerstraat 130, 1013 EX Amsterdam), a traditional Italian restaurant. In the restaurant, we actually had the feeling that we were no longer in Amsterdam, but in Italy. The food was just as delicious as in Italy and the service was extremely friendly. A successful end to our trip!
