Sailing around Corfu

WHAT WE DISCOVERED & DID

Before I tell you all about what we discovered and did, I would like to make one thing clear: Every sailing trip will be different. You will never have the guarantee that you will see a certain place. This is because the sailing route is not only adapted to the interests of those sailing with you, but also to the weather. And you can't influence that. In addition, unexpected things can always happen, so there's no guarantee that you'll see the same places we did!

Explored beautiful blue caves

The Blue Caves at Paxos were an absolute highlight of our sailing trip. The caves themselves are already super impressive. But the entire bay was simply breathtakingly beautiful. That's why we took our time here to explore everything by SUP or dinghy. The caves are definitely an absolute must-do if you're sailing in Corfu!

Strolled through Greek villages

On my sailing trips in Greece, I always had the perfect mix of relaxation in beautiful bays, swimming fun in the bright blue water and excursions to cute Greek villages. This was also the case on our trip near Corfu. I particularly liked Parga. We went there by water cab, which was an experience already. And then the place itself was so beautiful. But the view of Parga from above... Wow!

I also really liked Gaios. There, I was really impressed by the entrance to the harbor. In the village itself, we went on a culinary tour and bought a few delicacies. I can highly recommend it.

Woke up in the most beautiful bays

The best thing about sailing trips is that you fall asleep and wake up again in the most beautiful bays. You can hardly be that close to nature anywhere else. That's why I like to sleep up on deck to be woken by the first rays of sunshine and watch the sunrise.

I can't tell you how many beautiful bays we saw on our sailing trip this time. Greece is certainly one of the winners when it comes to the most beautiful sailing areas. We even saw dolphins at Cape Lefkimmi! Though, I can also highly recommend Paralia Kipiadi, Paralia Lakka, Paralia Voutoumi and Akra Kedros for your sailing route! But to be honest, all the bays will probably be beautiful!

Did a little hike

When you're on a sailing boat for a week, you often don't move around very much. You can't cover long distances on foot on the boat. So it's often good to go for a swim. Or you can go for a short hike like we did!

Because when we were in Gaios, we walked to Tripitos Arch. The hike was not only good for our bodies, but it was also more than worth it to take a look at the famous rock arch. The next day, we even sailed past the arch again and saw it from a different perspective which was also very nice. But this time the view of the rock from the land wins. So plan a hike when you visit Gaios!

Ate delicious food

I didn't used to like Greek food that much because I only knew gyros & co from German-Greek restaurants. But the "real" Greek food in Greece itself is completely different and sooooo delicious! I especially love ordering different Greek tapas and trying a bit of everything.

That's why we went out to eat so often in Corfu. But I couldn't say where I liked it best. I can definitely recommend the Telesilla Restaurant in Gouvia and Castello Restaurant in Parga! Yet, everywhere else was also very tasty. So, I have listed all the other restaurants here.

I have put together a list of places on Google Maps for you.

You can find the list here.
